This book examines the agricultural history of Basona Warana district, North Shäwa Zone, in the Amhara National Region, Ethiopia. The study intends to make a modest contribution to the overlooked local study of agriculture. The time frame for the work coincides politically with the “socialist” government known as the Därg (1974-1991). As a result, the historical analysis of agriculture of the area is treated in relation to the “socialist” oriented policies of the regime.
